Some parts of the book are really old and have not been revisited lately. What Are you trying to do?

I am currently using QuickBooks. I am trying to see if LedgerSMB will replace it. I am running a mortgage company. In QuickBooks, I keep each property as a Class. Then, when I run a Profit and Loss by Class report, I get the income and expenses with each property in its own column and the total for the business in a column at the end. Ideally, I would also like to be able to run a Balance Sheet by Class, but QuickBooks does not have that.
