I do hope that there will still be a repository for straight Debian packages!
If it's up to me, then yes, absolutely! However, we need someone to step up to do the legwork: I'm finding that my time is best spent on the software itself, not on the packaging, which is a complex topic of its own, especially Debian packaging, which comes with truckloads of policy.
Am finding that debian is most often deprecated for Ubuntu and that would mean that I could no longer use the archive (running debian).
Well, I was able to update the LedgerSMB package in Debian to 1.6.33, after it was removed because of broken dependencies, last year. But this year, the same dependency is broken again and I have no way of fixing it. Likely, LedgerSMB will be removed from the Debian archive. Also, when looking at PopCon, you'll see that the number of installs has deteriorated... I don't know how to upgrade the package in Debian to e.g. 1.9 or 1.10 without the broken dependency and within the bounds of the debian policy. We need help!
(Hope its ok that this is not sent to all.)
Sure. However, it'd been fine on my part if you had sent to everybody. Feel free to do so with my response. Regards, Erik.

We're looking for someone who is willing to help out with our Ubuntu PPA (personal package archive). There is one at https://launchpad.net/~ledgersmb/+archive/ubuntu/main
With the Papas we can publish Ubuntu packages much more frequently than there are Ubuntu releases. E g. For every LedgerSMB release.
The PPA has been abandoned since 2019, when we lost contact with the maintainer of the Debian and Ubuntu packages. Last week, we gained access to the associated Launchpad project so the effort can be revived.
All we now need is someone to help out reviving....
If you are that person, please contact me or if you already have a Launchpad account, request to join the Ubuntu LedgerSMB group.
Thanks!
