Fwd: Important: Docker is sunsetting Free Team organizations
Hi all, Docker is revoking our ability to distribute Docker images through Docker Hub. We applied to Open Source status before -- which would have allowed us to keep distributing our Docker images through Docker Hub -- but the procedure was complex and unclear. We were not given Open Source status as a result. Docker images remain available through GitHub via https://github.com/ledgersmb/ledgersmb-docker/pkgs/container/ledgersmb. Please use those going forward. We regret Docker taking this direction, but would like to thank them for the opportunity we had while it lasted. Kind regards, Erik. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Docker <no-reply@docker.com> Date: Tue, Mar 14, 2023 at 5:20 PM Subject: Important: Docker is sunsetting Free Team organizations To: <ehuels@gmail.com> Access to your organization data will be suspended on X, 2023. [image: logo-docker-dark-blue.png] *Docker is sunsetting Free Team organizations* Free Team organizations are a legacy subscription tier that no longer exists. This tier included many of the same features, rates, and functionality as a paid Docker Team subscription. After reviewing the list of accounts that are members of legacy Free Team organizations, we’ve identified yours as potentially being one of them. If you own a legacy Free Team organization, access to paid features — including private repositories — will be suspended on *April 14, 2023 (11:59 pm UTC)*. Upgrade your subscription before *April 14, 2023* to continue accessing your organization. If you don’t upgrade to a paid subscription, Docker will retain your organization data for 30 days, after which it will be subject to deletion. During that time, you will maintain access to any images in your public repositories, though rate limitations will apply. At any point during the 30-day period, you can restore access to your organization account if you upgrade to a paid subscription. Today, I applied with the Docker Open Source Program. I did this several years ago, but the reaction wasn't encouraging, which is why I never tried it again, until today, triggered by the Free account "removal". The experience was totally different this time: within an hour, our project was approved for the Docker Open Source Program (where 30 days were promised)! The Docker Open Source Program is a one-year commitment from Docker to our project, with the intent to renew as long as the project remains in line with their requirements. I'd like to thank Docker for their continued support of our project. Bye, Erik. http://efficito.com -- Hosted accounting and ERP. Robust and Flexible. No vendor lock-in.
